You’re my only hope…

Built in 2009 for Star Wars Days at Legoland California, this Star Wars: A New Hope Lego Chess set took two months to make. Not only are the standard characters brilliantly posed (please note Luck and Leia recreating the movie poster), but there are some great movie moments picked out and featured. The Dark Side’s rook is none other than Greedo waiting to shoot first. Close up shots can be found here,

8-Bit Trip

Sometimes I scoff at what people are able to waste time doing. Other times, like now, I’m terribly jealous of what people are able to find time to create.

8-Bit Trip” by Swedish musicians Rymdreglage took 1500 hrs to film. The swell in popularity of this short has broken their website, but their Youtube Channel is still intact to explore more of this duo’s creations.

Giant blue wang.. er.. DSi

This 51,324 piece sculpture of a Nintendo DSi to be featured in the Rockefeller Center Nintendo World store took LEGO artist Sean Kenney 200 hours to build. It’s over 7 feet wide and 250 pounds. I’m terribly curious what he was paid to make it. See the video below for a time elapsed version of the build and some close-up shots.

Smaller is better

I have a general love for all things teeny and all things gigantor - thus this mini NES and SNES made by Lego Guy is right up my alley! I’m totally impressed by the inclusion of the SNES cartridge and detail work on the controller and R.O.B.. Props!
