Every wonder what the proper term for the large group of wraiths chasing you is? Or how to refer to the multiple probes you experienced? Well, now, thanks to The Stoakes-Whibley Natural Index of Supernatural Collective Nouns, you’ll be ready for any occasion!

“Man, that degradation of wraiths that was chasing me sure was scary!”
“There were several probes in my anus, but not quite a full fleet, I don’t think.”

w00t at your own risk

If you’re like me, you don’t live in San Francisco or Los Angeles and you didn’t make it to any of the w00tstocks. You may feel depressed, disconnected or downright dissed by the cultural icons you love so much.

But fear not, true believers! Someone recorded the entire event in LA and has offered it up on the altar of nerd! It is available from download here, but do so at your own risk. I have not yet tried it myself and cannot verify its safeness for your computer.

That being said, there are no complaints about it in the comments on the blog post Wil Wheaton did announcing it’s existence - so *fingers crossed* that it is safe!

The hits just keep coming!

It was only available briefly on Zazzle before being taken down for, I presume, copyright reasons. But if someone wants to make their own “Three Worf Moon” shirt… here is an amazing template!

Was ist das?

Have I been living in a hole in the ground somewhere? How did I not hear that there was a Penny Arcade Card Game coming out from Fantasy Flight Games?

Description from Fantasy Flight Game’s website:

In Penny Arcade: The Card Game, two players take on the roles of Gabe and Tycho from the famous Webcomic Penny Arcade. Now you can reenact their brutal yet hilarious battle for the watch with powerful attacks and crazy combos. Just remember, only one character can reign supreme. To the winner, the watch!

Penny Arcade: The Card Game includes:

* Rulebook
* 2 Character Cards (1 Gabe, 1 Tycho)
* 18 Life Counters
* 1 Gabe Deck, consisting of 59 cards
* 1 Tycho Deck, consisting of 59 cards

FFG states a November 2009 release date, which means this is nearly in our laps! For those of you who want to start prepping now, they’ve released the official rules in pdf form.

Oh yeah, this is why I love Castle

I’m pretty sure that Castle, while generally not nerdy, is my current favorite television show. And what do I get in return? Nerdiness! In the clip above, Nathan Fillion gets to make a Firefly, Buffy AND Underworld references. Teehee!

Spidey sense - tingling!

A remake that might not suck?

clash of the titans 1

Whatcha got in the bag for me, Sam Worthington? Is it Medusa’s head? Because if it is, that would be totally hot. By the way, that’s a pretty fancy background you have there for a pre-CGI shot. Also, your costumed friend below looks pretty rad. I’m glad your higher-ups decided he didn’t need to be created by a computer. Makes me think I might actually like this remake of Clash of the Titans.

Three Teen Wolf Moon

Three Teen Wolf” shirt from 80s Tees

When I first saw the Three Keyboard Cat Moon shirt from Threadless - I thought the “Three ______ Moon’ meme had reached it’s pinnacle. Sometimes it’s good to be wrong. This is … just epic.

This is all I want for Xmas… forever…

Dungeons and Dragons Super Rad Computer Table.

I’ve been hearing about Microsoft’s Surface for quite awhile now. Initially, I saw it demoed as a restaurant table where you could view a menu, order and pay just by interacting with the touchscreen table. I thought, “Cool, but this could be cooler.”

Maximum cool has just been achieved. Imagine a touchscreen computer table that is programed with every D&D rule available and accessible through a “smart” battle map. Character stats, spell effects, movement types all at your fingertips. I am sitting here drooling over this video imagining future iterations where you could spontaneously download a dungeon crawl to run through and not need a DM (c’mon, sometimes that’s fun!).

I just need a second to recover… so amazing… musn’t sell everything I own to buy…

[thanks for the tip, Bridge City Comics!]
